The Antariksh - Astronomy Club organized an insightful Astrophotography Workshop on November 4, 2023, led by Mr. Jameer Manur, founder of the club and Senior Research Staff at IUCAA. The workshop featured three sessions: an introduction to astronomy, astrophotography fundamentals, and a hands-on experience using astrophotography equipment and software like DeepSkyStacker and Adobe Lightroom. Participants learned about celestial object visibility, camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, aperture), and the use of telescopes and CCD cameras. The event inspired a passion for astrophotography, with practical guidance and knowledge sharing.
On September 4, 2023, Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune, celebrated "Chandrayaan Mahotsav" in honor of ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 mission. Organized by the Antariksh Club, the event attracted 70 attendees and featured presentations by club members on the Moon’s significance, global space missions, and the Chandrayaan program. A quiz and a sky gazing workshop, offering views of the Vega Star and Alpha Centauri, added interactive elements. The event was a tribute to India’s space achievements and successfully inspired interest in space exploration.
From April 11-13, 2023, a select group of participants, including members of the Antariksh Club, attended the Horn Antenna Workshop organized by IUCAA. The event, part of a Faculty Development Programme, was attended by over 30 professors from across India, who came together to explore the cutting-edge fields of radio astronomy, particularly focusing on the 21cm H-Line Spectrum and the construction of Horn Antennas. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for participants to delve into advanced topics and gain practical skills in radio astronomy and antenna technology.
